Frequently Asked Questions
(Professional Training)
- Where
are RDI Program Certification seminars held?
Because of their intensity, all of our seminars
are held at our training facility in Houston, Texas.
- What if I am a parent of a child on the spectrum but I'm also
interested in going through the certification process?
Parents who meet the prerequisites to apply to our Certification Program must first work with an RDI® Program Certified Consultant or Consultant-in-Training for a minimum of six months before applying. The consultant must provide a letter of recommendation stating that you have followed through with recommendations and protocol.
- Can I attend seminars back-to-back?
The Beginning and Intermediate Seminars need to be attended back-to-back. However, it is not possible to attend the Advanced seminar until a professional has completed at least nine of the required intervention tapes.
- Will past work experience count towards certification or will it count
in place of one of the certification requirements?
No, each professional must fulfill each
of the requirements leading towards certification. This
requires three seminars in Houston (two seminars are done back-to-back) and professional supervision.
- What if I'm just interested in getting more information about the RDI®
Program and not looking to go through the certification process
at this time?
At this time, seminars are only open to
professionals committed to going through the certification process. If you're interested in getting more introductory information, please attend an introductory two
day workshop (presented by Dr. Gutstein) or view the RDI® Program DVD (Going to the Heart of Autism - available for purchase on our website).
