Beyond Face-to-Face
Placing all important communication online in an easily viewable format removes misunderstandings, reduces confusion about responsibilities, clarifies everyone's roles, provides clear documentation of expectations and eliminates wasted time. Clients know what is expected from then and have clear deadlines. Clients learn to take necessary responsibility. Live sessions are only the catalyst for the ongoing progress that happens outside of the session.
Professionals don't have to wait for live sessions to provide guidance and support, or check to determine client understanding and/or compliance. Professionals can review brief samples of client understanding and progress and make on line recommendations and adjustments that are clearly recorded. With a common reference point to observe together, misunderstandings are drastically reduced.
Getting Started
We train professionals to use face-to-face meetings to clearly communicate expectations for clients, by collaboratively choosing objectives and lessons and selecting or constructing specific assignments. Each stage in a program contains a systematic guidebook of developmentally based objectives. Objectives are broken down by the consultant into assignments. Assignments are the communication that move the consultative process to the next step. Online objectives and lessons can be supplied from our Family Guided Participation Program or Dynamic Education Program, consultants can also supply their own additional objectives and lessons to best fit the clients needs.
Any time a professional creates online information intended for a client, following a face-to-face session, or a client communicates with questions or for clarification, the intended recipient receives an immediate notification email. New information also appears on their customized on line dashboard. The information is always in their virtual, on line chart in a clearly organized format. Clients can, at any time, access summaries of their current assignments, lessons and objectives, as well as reports of their mastered objectives. They can even view future objectives if the consultant designates them.
All assignments include requests for a specific 'work product' the consultant expect from the client by a specific date. Work products typically include the consultants request that the client conduct some written observation or analysis along with providing a short representative sample of progress (e.g. a 2 minute video, or a chart). If clients feel uncomfortable writing or have literacy problems, they can send the observation/analysis part of their work products in audio or video formats. Clients are carefully trained to make and upload work products. Progress happens and obstacles are overcome quickly when the consultant can understand how the client is thinking and view a sample of their effort before responding to them. They provide professionals with the opporutnity to observe, review and analyze client progress based on multimedia data in between sessions, rather than relying on client recollection and report, or waiting to see what happens in the session.
Assignments can be supplemented with powerful resources; pre-designed multi-media exercises as well as any of the thousands of objective-related video examples. Consultants can easily add their own audio and/or video communication and illustrations, and once added, any resource the consultant provides can be saved as a favorite for future use. Clients are systematically taught to use video cameras to record and analyze their work products and then to submit small (2-3 minute) representative video clips of their progress, based on specific assignments. Professionals can easily excerpt and share a small segment of client video with clients and use any media desired to require feedback, including written, audio or video.
