The Team Collaboration Tool
We're excited to be in the development phase of the Team Collaboration Tool. A highly effective system for inter-disciplinary and professional-to-family team planning, collaboration and communication. The Team Collaboration Tool is designed to be used alongside the Dynamic Consultation Tool and the Learning Support Community, but can also be used as a stand-alone application.
A confidential on-line virtual chart and client communication forum is created for each client that all team members use to designate assignments, provide feedback and store resources and communication. This allows team members to track, archive and instantly review objectives, assignments, team communication and client progress in one organized location.
Family and professional team members target a common system of objectives and lessons, written from a developmental growth perspective, thus minimizing 'language' and 'jargon' confusion.
Professionals collaborating as a team with a specific client can set up a case-based blog, viewable only by professionals on the team, to facilitate open discussion relevant to the case including results related to: specific obstacles, modifications, compensations and objective prioritization. The Team Collaboration Tool would also allow the team to store video samples for critical reference points related to specific objectives/obstacles. In this shared space a balanced plan is developed and understood by the team, clarifying tracking and future evaluation. Areas of responsibility are clearly set up and documented. They can be modified as needed and modifications are immediately visible to all members.
Who is it for?
Professionals collaborating as a team with a specific client can set up a case-based blog, viewable only by professionals on the team, to facilitate open discussion related to the case.
All family members and professionals involved with the client are give team membership and provided with a specific roles and permissions for communication and data access. Team members are determined by the team leader and family, with the option of designating members as temporary or long term. Once the team has been determined, they collaborate to develop an evaluation plan.
How does it work?
Team members easily share what they are learning in their specific setting. Team members communicate with one another through secure private messaging, webinars, discussion forums, impromptu online text or video chats. These types of communication can be recorded and place in an online record so that they can instantly connect to specific assignments, lessons and objectives, along with allocated due dates. All team members are instantly notified of important communication or changes to the team structure via email. They click on the supplied link to go directly to the new information.
Each team member can be provided with a customized dashboard. Team members can access a number of menu-driven reports related to the client's progress, current functioning, future objectives and summary information which can be customized and exported into many formats. This information can be restricted based on team members specific role.
