Works at a Distance
Tanya Kemp, MA Psy, BSocSc
I hold a Masters degree in Psychology and a B.Soc.Sc in Social Work and I practiced in London, England for 10 years, working primarily with children and families with multiple and complex needs. My career reflects my belief in the value of working systemically with families to address challenges. RDI, with its whole family approach, was therefore, a natural choice for me when my daughter was diagnosed at 18 months old. Adding RDI to my education and professional skills set is a natural progression to specialization in a field very close to my heart, and I feel privileged to be working with both the inspiring, strong Autism parents as well as the children who drive them.
In addition to my MA Psy, B Soc Sc, and my RDI Consultant training, I am a Self-Reg Consultant. I believe very strongly in the progressiveness of approaching Autism from a developmental point of view and the role and impact of the Self-Reg paradigm is undeniable. These approaches provide a message of hope to individual and families affected by Autism.
When I’m not working in helping families impacted by Autism, I am an adult, children’s and children with special needs yoga teacher, a mindfulness teacher and practitioner, a Life Coach/NLP Practitioner.
I draw from all of my professional and life experience when working with families as I believe that every experience that came before, shaped me to being equipped to face what I am dealt with every day.
