About Lisa
Lisa Skelly has worked with individuals with autism and related disorders for over 35 years. She has worked with the same organization, Benhaven, in a variety of roles during these years. The various roles in which she has held has allowed her to gain multiple perspectives as well as in-depth learning and experience.
Lisa initially learned about RDI through a parent and then by attending a 2 day workshop. Although she had training and experience in multiple techniques, including ABA, she felt that she could not continue forward without incorporating this important information she had gained as it really fit with her experience and seemed like a vital piece that had been missing. At that point, she went into the certification program and has been certified and working with families with RDI for over 10 years.
Lisa holds a masters in special education and a sixth year degree in consultation in special education. She currently spends the majority of her full time job teaching at Benhaven Academy and the other portion of her job is working with families with the RDI program. She lives with her husband and daughter in Cheshire, CT.
