About Lucy

Lucy Vintimilla is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, inclusion, and family empowerment. She is the founder and Executive Director of Aventura Consciente, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families through education, community engagement, advocacy, and culturally responsive resources.

As a Certified Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®) Consultant, Lucy is committed to helping families build meaningful relationships, strengthen emotional connections, and foster independence and personal growth in autistic individuals.

With a master’s degree in Bilingual Education and experience as an educator, Lucy brings a unique perspective to her work, combining her expertise in education, child development, and family-centered support. As a mother of an autistic child, she also brings valuable lived experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of the challenges and strengths within neurodivergent families.

Originally from Ecuador, Lucy is especially passionate about breaking down language and cultural barriers that prevent Spanish-speaking families from accessing essential services and resources.

Through Aventura Consciente and her professional work, Lucy serves families in Charlotte, North Carolina, and York County, South Carolina, while extending her support remotely to Spanish-speaking families worldwide.

Her mission is to create a more inclusive world where every individual is valued, every family feels supported, and everyone belongs.
