About Rashmi
I have been a practicing RDI certified consultant since 2012. However, my RDI journey began 3 years prior to that, in 2009, when I started doing RDI with my daughter.
The great impact that RDI had on my daughter motivated me to get myself trained and certified as a consultant. I went to Houston in December 2012 and underwent an enriching 2-week training program conducted by Dr Gutstein and Dr Rachel Sheely and other senior RDI consultants. By November 2013 I had completed my certification under the expert guidance of none other than Dr Rachelle Sheely. That was indeed a privilege!
I started my RDI consultations in Delhi (India) in December 2012 with 7 families who I took over from another RDI consultant. This gave me the opportunity, at the very beginning itself, to work with a wide range of families who were at various stages of RDI. Slowly my practice expanded and I have worked with multiple families over time. Apart from working with families in across the globe, I also conduct workshops in smaller towns of India with parents of children on the spectrum. This has widened my experience and given me a much deeper understanding of issues that families with autistic children face.
As an RDI consultant, my goal is to train parents in such a manner that – in time – they don’t need me or services, or for that matter, that of other therapists either.
