About Shagufta

Being trained as a pediatrician, my life took a new turn when my son, now sixteen, was diagnosed with Autism. From very early on, I could not relate with the behavioral therapies that led me to train myself as a Son-Rise parent and later pursuing more relationship-based approaches.

My son’s journey inspired me to work with other families who had been struggling with connection building with their Autistic children. During my work, I felt a huge gap in parent’s own learning and training. They needed to be empowered. Taking up that responsibility I took up RDI Certification and now, have become Pakistan’s first RDI consultant.

As a parent and a professional, I can understand the plight of the families as well as the gap in training of the professionals in alternative approaches for Autism. My mission as an Autism advocate is to bring more awareness about Relationship and Connection using my knowledge of RDI and empower parents to take charge of their Children’s lives and journeys.

I do regular webinars, community events and training workshops both in person and online to work towards my mission.
