Dr. Sonya Makhmood is the CEO and founder of Dr. NeuroAesthetics™️, she is a pioneering expert within Neurodevelopmental Disorders, bringing together more than 13+ years of practical clinical experience combined with the latest in research knowledge. She excels in assessing as well as treating children, adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental, global developmental delays, psychological, emotional, and intellectual disorders.
Dr. Sonya has a particular interest in understanding the cognitive profiles of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental difficulties but also the different presentations of Autism in both males and females. Dr. Sonya employs a distinctive multifaceted method, focusing on creating new neural pathways in the brain and addressing conventional medical challenges through her personalized approach and behavioural strategies. Dr. Sonya also conducts evaluations for autism utilizing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS-2), in addition to performing an impressive profile of psychometric assessments encompassing cognition, intelligence and language.
